Atlas is one of the newer horses at Kidder Creek Camp and also one of the favorites. He is a gelding and a cross between a Clydesdale and a Shire. He has the potential to be very tall but is still a youngster at 4 years old. Atlas will soon be learning the skills of Vaulting to share the duties with Galaxy, our current vaulting horse. Fun Fact: his feet are about the size of a dinner plate....yes, ginormous!
Bliss is a pretty American Paint mare in her early 20’s. She is a lovely horse who is a pleasure to ride both in the arena and on the trail. Bliss is kind hearted and takes very good care of her riders. In the off season Bliss is used as a lesson horse for a program helping young men in crisis.
Bubba is a Quarter Horse sorrel gelding in his mid 20’s with a kick back attitude. Although he is attentive in the arena and on the trail he really just enjoys hanging out with his best friend, Kash.
Butterscotch is a mule which means her Mama was a horse and her Daddy was a donkey. She is helping to teach campers about the variety in the equine family. Mules are know to carry 20% of their body weight for up to 15 to 20 miles per days in the mountains. Butterscotch makes both an excellent packing and riding animal plus she is super duper sweet!
Cinnamon is a perfect name for this beautiful 11 year old sorrel Quarter Horse/Arab cross mare. She is a very sensitive girl who really appreciates a rider who wants to be a partner with her. Cinnamon is a Ranch Camp favorite among older campers.
Concho is a 10 year old Welsh Pony. This spunky mare is new to the Kidder Creek Camp herd and brings plenty of enthusiasm for the arena and trail. Campers who would like a little pizzazz have found the right horse to ride at Ranch Camp.
Cooper is a fun Palomino Mustang gelding in his mid teens. He is used at camp by more experienced riders who will be challenged by Cooper’s exuberance. Whether in the arena or on the trail you’ll remember Cooper’s goofy personality. In the off season Cooper is used as a lesson horse for a program helping young men in crisis.
Dixie is a pretty Quarter Horse grey mare who is retired from the Forest Service Trail Program. She is in her late teens and is used in our Wrangler In Training program giving WITS the opportunity to improve their horsemanship skills. She is certainly no stranger to riding down the trail.
Faith is new to the Kidder Creek herd. She is a Quarter horse in her early 20's and has spent many summers on the mountains trails with young horse lovers on her back. Faith is a kind mare is a nice addition.
This big girl is the heart of our Vaulting Program at Kidder Creek Ranch Camp. Galaxy is a grey Percheron mare who is in her mid teens. She stands 17 hands tall, weighs about 1400 lbs and has gigantic feet. Her kind attitude and temperament makes her the perfect horse for vaulting at camp.
Halle is a bay Quarter Horse mare in her mid teens. She has a spicy disposition which makes her fun to ride by our Wranglers in Training. Halle is known to have a very smooth and easy to ride canter.
This little guy has been a popular addition to the Kidder Creek herd. Henry Ford is a bay Quarter Pony gelding in his mid teens. He has starred in campfire skits at Ranch Camp and also is the first choice when we have little trail riding guests. In the off season he is used as a Hippotherapy horse in which a therapist uses the movements of the horse to help the rider improve motor and sensory skills.
Kash is a big quiet teddy bear type horse. He is in his middle teens, a Quarter Horse sorrel gelding who takes good care of his riders. He has a kicked back attitude and is happiest hanging out with his best friend Bubba.
Kate has been a part of the Kidder Creek herd for many years. This rock solid kids horse is a Morgan/Arabian cross mare in her early twenties. Campers enjoy Kate due to her calm and kind nature.
This pretty mare is a favorite among the Wranglers-in-Training and Wranglers at Ranch Camp. Kimber is a chestnut Saddlebred/Arab Cross in her mid teens and offers just enough spice to keep riding interesting and progressive.
This new girl is a very sensitive and very sweet 14 yr Quarter horse. Layne is learning the rhythms of camp life and will be ready for camp life soon.
Mag is a rock solid retired ranch horse in his late teens. He is a big grey Quarter Horse gelding who is both great in the arena and trail. Although he seems to have a kicked back attitude Mag could go all day long both in the arena and on the trail. Magnum is certainly a favorite among the Cowboys who come to Ranch Camp. In the off season Mag is used as a lesson horse for a program helping young men in crisis.
Missy is a small, kind hearted, bay Mustang/cross mare in her early 20’s. In the off season Missy is used as a Hippotherapy horse in which a therapist uses the movements of the horse to help the rider improve motor and sensory skills.
This stunning gelding lives up to his name, Picasso. He is a tall, beautiful paint gelding with one brown eye and one blue eye. Picasso is a favorite among the Wranglers.
This gorgeous new guy is an Andalusian/Arab cross in his early 20's. He is a beautiful mover in the arena and also loves to be out on the trail.
Sassy is an Appoloosa mare in her early 20’s and favorite gal at Kidder Creek Ranch Camp. Her calm nature and kind heartedness does not go unnoticed. She takes wonderful care of her riders both in the arena and on the trail.
Seeker is a chestnut Appoloosa mare in her early 20’s with a beautiful flaxen mane and tail. She is especially revered for her stamina on trails especially at our High Country Camp in the Trinity Alps. In the off season Seeker is used as a lesson horse for a program helping young men in crisis.
This mare is a looker! Star is a Spotted Appoloosa in her early 20’s. She is especially revered for her stamina on trails especially at our High Country Camp in the Trinity Alps. Star is a favorite among our Wranglers-In-Training and Ranch Campers.
This big girl has a giant heart. Sweet Pea is a Quarter Horse/Percheron paint mare who is in her late teens. Sweet Pea is happiest when she is out on a trail ride with a camper enjoying a summer day! In the off season she is used as a lesson horse for a program helping young men in crisis.
Tango is a Mustang gelding who was rounded up from the wild and started in a correctional facility in Nevada. In his early 20’s Tango is an all business kind of guy who takes good care of his rider especially on the trail.
Toby is a big teddy bear with an even bigger heart. Campers especially like braiding his big hair and “gussying up” Toby for our Friday Showdeos. In the off season Toby works with our local Therapeutic Riding Center. He is especially revered by military veterans who ride him in the Horses for Heroes program.
Tula is a bay Mustang mare who has a spicy disposition which makes her fun to ride by our Wranglers-in-Training. She is one of the youngsters in the Kidder Creek herd as she is in her early teens.
This big guy is an exciting addition to the Kidder Creek Camp herd. He is a 19 yr Tennessee Walker which means he has an extra gait or an extra speed. He has quickly captured the hearts of the staff as he is an "in your pocket" super friendly gelding.
