We're Transforming Kidder Creek!

The word is out. Hundreds of kids and families are having real encounters with God in His creation every year at Kidder Creek. And we need your help to Transform Kidder Creek so we can serve every camper God sends our way. Read on to learn more!

Current Need

Pond Pavilion

3D Rendering of Pond Pavilion
The Pond Pavilion will be a new structure that will include over 1,000 square feet of bathroom and shower space (8 toilets, 2 urinals, and 10 showers, including an ADA toilet and shower), and a 750 square foot outdoor kitchen/BBQ area to serve campers.
We have applied for the construction permit and we are already working with a contractor, but we need your help today so that we can start as soon as we receive our permits.
A message from the Director...

Now more than ever, kids need a place where they can slow down, lift their eyes and have real encounters with God in His creation. They need Kidder Creek. But camp is maxing out. Our current facilities keep us from serving campers, and year after year we have to turn campers away. Will you prayerfully consider joining me in transforming Kidder Creek so we can serve every camper God sends our way?

In His Adventure,
Andy Warken
Director of Kidder Creek

Kids and families need real experiences now more than ever.

Now more than ever, kids need a place where they can slow down, lift their eyes and have real encounters with God in His creation. They need a place where they are invited to take one step closer to Jesus and make their faith their own.

Kidder Creek Camp is the place.

When campers bond with a horse, step into the river, or sleep overnight under the stars, they encounter something real. When they face challenges and risks in a safe environment, they develop resilience. When they get away from the world trying to define them and spend time in God’s word with counselors who love Jesus, God does something eternal.

But there's a problem: camp is maxing out, and year after year we have to turn campers away. This is not okay, and we know you agree.

We're Transforming Kidder Creek.

After a 14-year process, Kidder Creek’s master site plan was finally approved by the county! As our founders moved forward in faith, so are we. With your help, we will transform Kidder Creek Camp to stop turning away campers from the most important week of their life.

Here's the Plan...

To reach every camper God sends our way, we first need to tackle the projects that directly impact every camper we serve and improve camp as a whole.

Warken family

Andy Warken

Andy was born in Barcelona, Spain where his parents were missionaries doing youth and camp work. His family moved to Schroon Lake, New York when Andy was 9 where they continued life in ministry at Word of Life. Andy began working at camp at 12, and has only missed one summer since. Andy loved camp so much that he received a degree from Appalachian Bible College in Christian Camping. He's been a wrangler, dishwasher, counselor, plunger, river guide, program director and now directs Mount Hermon Kidder Creek. He is married to Emily and they have 7 children. He loves adventuring alongside his friends and family in God's creation. His favorite pastimes are kayaking, snowboarding, biking and camping. He began working at Kidder Creek in 2014 and feels grateful that God is utilizing his love of adventure and the outdoors to grow God's kingdom!

Matson Family

Topher Matson

Hi! I’m Topher. This is my family: Kelly, Parker, and Chase. I was raised in Northern California in a Christian home where my parents made it a priority to come to camp. I attended Mount Hermon’s Family Camp, Ponderosa Lodge, and numerous camps in the Sierras for youth and men’s retreats.

So it’s no surprise that I spent three wonder-filled summers in college as a camp counselor. In 2018, I started working on the Advancement team at Mount Hermon and visited Kidder Creek for the first time. I fell in LOVE with the Christ-centered program, the splendor of the Scott Valley (with its Marble Mountain Wilderness) and the staff and volunteers that make it the best camp around. I’m hooked, and so is my family.

It’s my joy and honor to support the Kidder Creek team as we rally to see Kidder transform for the next 50 years of ministry. We are thankful for a generation of founders who boldly prayed, asked and labored to build the camp and ministry we’ve inherited today. Now it’s our turn to step out in faith and inspire future generations to do the same— all for our King!

I can’t wait to meet you and hear your Kidder story! Thank you for being part of God’s story here!
